Workday Rising 2024
Workday Rising 2024 took place at Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas, and with over 30k attendees in-person and online. With speakers like Michelle Obama, and a performance by Gwen Stefani, it was the experience of a lifetime.
This year’s Rising focused on creating a warm, and sun-soaked environment, celebrating our customers, and showing attendees how Workday can take people and businesses “forever forward.”
We introduced spot gradients, as well as a new library of dynamic shapes, that ended up heavily influencing our 2024 rebrand . We focused on lighting, materials and scale to bring the show to life in an immersive environment.
“Every year, your ability to transform zones, connect with stakeholders, and improve process continues to impress me. From taking a social moment and making it uniquely Workday to juggling a million tasks at once, you are so essential to the success of this event.”
Expo
For the third year in a row, I partnered with Aly Cunningham on the Expo, lead by our manager, Kelsey Mauk. This year’s Expo housed more than ever, from demos, to the broadcast studio, to theaters, to activations, to photo ops, to customer moments (including a pickle ball court and McLaren simulator).
The entrance to the expo was the feeling of a sunrise, with controlled lighting, hyper-warm graphics, and banners progressing from purple to yellow.
Anchored by an HR, IT and Finance zone, the Expo was the one-stop shop for customers, prospects, and any level from any buying center to learn, explore and discover Workday solutions. At the center of the expo was “The Core,” a 360 digital sphere surrounded by a transparent scrim, housing interactive experiences and demos.
We designed a “kit of parts” that served as a visual strategy to bring cohesion to the different zones across the expo floor. All demos were branded the same, all theaters were treated the same, all welcome structures were treated the same.
